“Women have always been the strong ones of the world.” Coco Chanel
As an activist, I felt compelled to find a way to be at the decision making table, to protect women’s rights and policies that protect my people. I currently hold a seat on the Commission on the Status of Women, active Co-Chair of the Crime and Violence Committee, that is champion in the fight against the many different violations on women. I sit on the CSW Committee for our annual “Strong Girls, Strong Women” conference, offering a day of networking, leadership, discussion panels, along with relevant breakout sessions throughout the day for High School girls. I am current Chair of Member Outreach, on the Board of Directors for DAWN (Democratic Activist for Women Now). I am the Founder and President of PLAYNICE Non-Profit Organization, teaching the importance of acceptance, tolerance and guidance to build stronger communities. In addition, I bridge different outreach centers such as Youth Space, Billy D Frank Center, and is a mentor to young women in a Women’s Circle and is deeply rooted in the community. As a Biracial woman of color, with three children, a mother, mentor and soon Council Member, Governor and one day, President!
