Read moreMalia Vella is now the elections coordinator at the Alameda Labor Council. She formerly served as an associate at Olson Hagel & Fishburn LLP where she advised clients on political disclosure and election laws, and as District Director for Assemblymember Bill Quirk where she served the constituents of the 20th Assembly District. She has also been a political partner at the Truman National Security Project and a member of the City of Alameda’s Historical Advisory Board since 2013. Malia is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she earned a B.A. in Architecture and Political Science, and Santa Clara University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. with a special certificate in Public Interest and Social Justice. She was active in Santa Clara’s student government, moot court programs, and trial team and still serves as a member of their Diversity Gala Committee and the Alumni Engagement Taskforce. Malia has a background in community organizing and has worked on several campaigns for democratic candidates. She is also a licensed attorney.
