Appointed by the Mayor, I currently serve on the Planning Commission in Garden Grove. I ran for school board in 2008. I’m involved in local politics with different groups and organizations such my City’s Chamber of Commerce, LULAC, CIVIC GG.
I am a professional freelance interpreter and have worked in such capacity since 2011.
I am the third oldest of ten children and the first in my family to graduate from college. While holding a full time job, I put myself through college which took me about ten years to complete. My parents are both from Mexico and while I was born in the United States, my parents moved the family back to Mexico when I was two years old. Hence, I grew up and went to school there until the age of 16 when I came back to my “home country” yet I was a stranger. My first goal in the U.S. was to learn English. I started working when I was 18 and haven’t stopped since.
