Read moreLetitia Clark George currently serves as the Executive Director/Community Engagement Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Orange County Chapter, representing over 500 Pediatricians and advocating for the health and well being of all Orange County children. Letitia’s past professional experience as a lobbyist, director of government affairs and legislative assistants to both state and local elected officials has groomed her to effectively lead in her current position as well as in the community.
Letitia serves on a number of advisory boards including the Children’s Health Initiative of Orange County, Orange County Connection for Child Care (OC 3C), and the Oral Health for Orange County Children Campaign. Letitia also remains closely tied to political activities as a member of the New Leaders Council of Orange County Advisory Board, the National Women’s Political Caucus of Orange County, the National Association of University Women Beach Cities Branch and the Tustin Ranch Elementary School Parent Curriculum Council.
Letitia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Xavier University of Louisiana, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from New England College, and a Non-Profit Management Certification from The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Letitia’s passion to serve her community through public service is evident through her community involvement. Her 1st run for public office in 2012 to the Orleans Parish Democratic Committee was a major victory, considering she was a no name/out-of-towner, who ran against 50 other local leaders of the New Orleans community for an opportunity to be elected as 1 of 14 in her district. Since this win, Letitia is confident that she has the necessarry drive to run a competitive campaign but understands that additional training and preparation would be ideal to run in more complex and larger territories.
Letitia is an Orange County native and currently resides in Tustin, CA. She is a proud baseball mom and cheer mom of her greatest accomplishments yet, who are her 6 year old twins, Carin and Theodore.
