From 2010-2012 I was elected President of the Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) and motivated a volunteer board to work hundreds of hours for the betterment of the community. I found it rewarding to be able to affect change that benefited my neighbors and I fell in love with public service. In 2012, while President Emeritus of PPCC, I became the editor of the Palisades Democratic Club newsletter. Later that year I became the Manager of the Westside Democratic Headquarters in Santa Monica, a coalition of four Dem Clubs and OFA. Our phone banking was so successful that it warranted a visit from Valerie Jarrett. Since then I have become First Vice President of the Palisades Dem Club for Political Issue and Endorsements. I have been a Delegate to the Democratic State Convention for 2 years and an Alternate at LA County Democratic Central Committee. This year I helped bring back the tradition of the Palisades Citizen of the Year Award, coordinating the Award Dinner, and raising nearly $25,000 for the Community Council in the process. I am now a District Representative for California State Senator Ted W. Lieu, and recently helped the community address problems with liquor licenses by bringing together Officials from ABC, the City of Los Angeles and Community Leaders from the Westside of Los Angeles.
