Cynthia Koehler
Cynthia Koehler has been a public interest attorney and environmental advocate in the Bay Area for almost 20 years. She served as Legal Director for Save San Francisco Bay Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Bay. In 2002, she was appointed as a visiting scholar at the Center for Sustainable Resource Development, an interdisciplinary research center at the University of California at Berkeley. She also serves on the Board of the National Women's Political Caucus, Marin Chapter.
Cynthia has worked on some of the most prominent natural resource issues in California in recent history including the Mono Lake trial, efforts to protect dolphins from tuna fishing practices, water quality standards for the San Francisco Bay/Delta Estuary, and obtaining protections for endangered salmon. She has testified frequently before Congress and the State legislature, was a principal negotiator for the environmental community on Propositions 204 and 13, "green" water bond initiatives, that generated funding for environmental restoration.
Cynthia is a graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, CA and received her J.D. and Environmental Law Certificate from the University of Oregon School of Law. She lives in Mill Valley with her husband and two children.
