Mrs. Brooks has over 15 years of experience in Government Relations, Community Involvement, Activism and Advocacy for the most underserved and disenfranchised people in her community.
Chandra graduated from Compasspointes Fundraising Academy for Communities of Color and UCLA Andersons School of Management with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Chandra is the Business and Community Relations Director at the San Jose Job Corps Center, as well as the CEO & Executive Director for Building Peaceful Families, an organization started by San Jose Superior Court Judge, Sharon Chatman. This organization proudly celebrates fathers and reunifying families. Chandra is the Co-founder and Board Chairperson for Grub Club, an organization that provides food to low income youth in Santa Clara County. Chandra also finds time to sit on the board of the East Valley YMCA and is a Commissioner for the Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls.
In August of 2013, Chandra was the recipient of the “Portrait of Success Award” presented to her by the Hispanic Development Corporation for her tireless work in the community and in July of 2014 she was awarded “The Activist of the Year” Award from Latino Action Media.
Chandra is most passionate about Equal Opportunity and reducing the opportunity divide in Silicon Valley and ensuring more people of color vote and are engaged in the Political process.
