Stephanie Linder, Chair

Stephanie is the Director of Philanthropy at the San Francisco Parks Alliance. Previously, she served as advancement director at the national office of the Sierra Club and as the director of board affairs at The Trust for Public Land. Before joining the environmental movement, Stephanie led a national initiative to revitalize volunteerism throughout the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Anna Binder, Vice Chair

Anna Binder joined the Emerge California board in December of 2012. She has spent most of her career in human resources and business development roles at technology start-ups. Most recently she was the VP of Client Services and Human Resources at Readyforce, where college students launch careers. @annaebinder

Kate Karpilow, Vice Chair

Kate Karpilow is the Executive Director of the California Center for Research on Women and Families (CCRWF), a program of the Public Health Institute. For over 25 years, Ms. Karpilow has managed policy projects and conducted research in the areas of women's health, working families, child welfare, welfare reform, child care, and other policy issues.

Amber Maltbie, Secretary

Amber Maltbie is a political attorney with Nossaman, LLP, specializing in campaign finance compliance and disclosure, election administration, and governmental ethics. Amber also specializes in the intersection between U.S. and international election law, gender issues, and women's political participation.

Lisa Serwin, Treasurer

Lisa Serwin is currently the Chief Executive Officer of AppMedicine, Inc. Formerly Lisa was the Chief Operating Officer for MPQ Acquisition Corp., Chief Financial Officer of The PlumpJack Group, and the Executive Director of the Commission on Medical Education, for the Governor of Nevada.

Sandra Fluke
Attorney and Social Justice Advocate

Although best known for her advocacy for gender equality and reproductive justice, for the last decade, Sandra Fluke has devoted her career to public interest advocacy for numerous social justice concerns, such as LGBTQ rights, worker rights, economic justice, immigrant rights, and international human rights, including focusing on the impact to communities of color.

Hala Hijazi
Manager, Strategic Planning, City and County of San Francisco

Hala K. Hijazi has over 15 years of management experience with the City and County of San Francisco, specializing in economic public policies and programs development and implementation.

Courtney La Bau
Senior Investment Advisor, Borak Capital Holding

Courtney La Bau has most recently worked and lived between Cairo, Egypt  and Los Angeles as a Senior Investment Advisor for Borak Capital Holding, an investment company specializing in packaged investment opportunities within the finance, real estate and entertainment industries across the Middle East, specifically in Egypt through Borak and its subsidiary companies.

Linda Pfatteicher
Partner, DLA Piper

Linda Pfatteicher is a partner based in DLA Piper's International Tax group in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices. Ms. Pfatteicher concentrates her practice in international tax and operational structuring, cross-border mergers, acquisitions and post-acquisition integration and international tax controversies.

Hon. Susan Rose
Former Santa Barbara County Board Supervisor

During her more than 30 years experience in public administration, education and community activism, Susan Rose has been committed to the advancement of women, workplace issues and civil rights. She served two 4-year terms on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors during which she led efforts to create initiatives for affordable housing and homelessness, to improve the quality of life for women and families, and to ensure the environmental health of her community.

Thuy Thi Nguyen
General Counsel, Peralta Community College District

Since October 2003, Thuy Thi Nguyen has served as General Counsel for the Peralta Community College District, which comprises of Laney College, Merritt College, College of Alameda, and Berkeley City College.  At different points during her tenure as General Counsel, Thuy had served in additional roles as Acting Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and District-wide Strategic Planning Manager.  She has also taught education law at California State University, East Bay.
